Dama de Noche An insomniacs delight, this course is right open around the clock! The first course in Europe to stay open 24 hours a day, the Dama de Noche was designed by Enrique Canales and takes its name from the flowering shrub whose night time fragrance is said to keep mosquitoes away. The big innovation at this nine-hole par 36 layout is a lighting system artfully sited in strategic points so as to cast no shadows, thus obviating the need to hack throughout the darkness trying to find your ball. Also, there is no rough, so play keeps moving at a steady pace. The Dama de Noche is near Puerto Banús at the gateway to Marbella's famous Golf Valley and affords good views of La Concha, Marbella's emblematic mountain which stands behind the town.

Las Brisas Situated in one of the most beautiful valleys in the Costa del Sol, this course has hosted a variety of professional events, including two editions of the World Cup. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones at the end of the sixties and requires severe precision and a strong mental discipline in order not to fall fowl of its ten artificial lakes, hazardous bunkers and elevated greens. Championship course (par 72) where players are vetted i.e. must have recognised handicap certificate. In the heart of the golf valley, an excellent course with a lot of water obstacles.
Telephone: 952 81 30 21 - Calle 1D, Nueva Andalucia, Marbella.
La Cala (North) / (South) Two different courses set in the beautiful location surrounding Mijas, that have pronounced undulations and spectacular views. Cabell Robinson designed the courses to suit American tastes with a selection of different tee shots, varying fairways and difficult elevated greens. Accuracy is the key to successful play at La Cala's par-72 South Course. Although the fairways are wide and the greens are large, the often sloping terrain can severely punish wayward shots. Thick rough awaits stray drives and since the greens are elevated, approach shots also require accuracy. The 10th is considered La Cala's most difficult par five, while the short 11th hole calls for the tee shot to pass over a deep ravine. At the 12th there is a lake positioned in front of the green. La Cala's North Course is in eagle country. This becomes apparent when playing the par five 15th with its breathtaking view over the South course and the sea. From the 16th the landscape is equally distracting but watch out for the water. This may be only a short par three but accuracy and touch are needed, especially if there is a wind blowing. The La Cala Resort also offers squash and tennis courts, an indoor swimming pool, saunas, a restaurant and well-stocked pro shop. The club also has its own hotel on site and property for sale. The club is open all year round
Telephone: 952 66 90 33 - La Cala de Mijas, Mijas Costa.

There is also a floodlit Golf Academy.
Telephone: 952 93 19 60 - Ctra. de Cádiz, Mijas Costa.
Monte Mayor Situated in the residential area of Nueva Andalucía, near San Pedro de Alcántara, the surrounding area is quite mountainous and therefore the course surface is uneven and requires skill. The San Roque Club This is one of the most beautiful courses on the European circuit and was originally designed by Dave Thomas in 1990. San Roque Old Course in the foothills of the Sierra Bermeja, where the mountains meet the sea, is a legendary home for European golf. For many years it has played host to memorable moments for the young pretenders and old campaigners alike. The course's tight, sloping fairways are lined by mature cork oak trees - demanding straight, accurate driving. Strategic bunker placement and deceptive water hazards threaten all but the most precise approach shots. The greens are fast, contoured and true, rewarding well-judged putts and punishing anything else. Acknowledged for it's challenge throughout Europe, The Old Course provides a test for the very highest standard of golfer 6440 metres par 72

Torrequebrada Located in Benalmádena, this is one of the most popular courses in the Costa del Sol and is benefited by its link to the luxurious hotel of the same name. A very challenging course where correct club selection will prove vital -"Why move the earth when a golf hole should follow the natural contours?" That was Pepe Gancedo's question when he designed Torrequebrada.
Since its opening in 1976 Torrequebrada has hosted many world-class tournaments including the Spanish Open. One of the most popular golf courses in Spain, it is the home club of PGA European Tour professional Migual Angel Jiménez. Torrequebrada offers golfers a challenging layout with plenty of trees and water hazards with several particularly tricky holes. The 16th, a short par four, is a dogleg to the right with second shot towards an elevated green where the pin is barely visible. The course offers spectacular views over the sea but the wind can sometimes present players with an extra degree of difficulty.
Telephone: 952 44 27 42 - Ctra. de Cádiz. Benalmádena Costa.
